The Character Viewer
You can enter Greek characters, mathematical characters, symbols, and more into your EndNote references by using the Character Viewer. How you access the Character Viewer may differ depending on which macOS you are using.
To access the Character Viewer, go to the Edit menu, and then select Emoji & Symbols.
To use the Character Viewer:
- If you see only buttons, click the Expand button at the upper-right of the window. This will allow you to see a list of categories by name at the left.
- Use the Search field if you know the name of the character you need. Double-click on the character to insert it where your cursor was located in EndNote, or drag it to the location you want it.
- If you cannot find the character using the Search field, you can try to find it by checking likely categories in the list. Select a category to see the available characters in that category. When you find the one you need, double-click on the character to insert it, or drag it to the location you want it.
- If there are characters you use frequently, select a character and click Add to Favorites. Character Viewer will create a Favorites category where you can easily find your most-used characters in the future.
