Closing a Library
To close a library, do one of the following:
- From the File menu, select Close Library.
- Type ⌘+W when the Library window is active.
- Click the Close button in the top left corner of the Library window.
- Hold down the Option key when clicking the red close button of a library to close all open Library windows.
EndNote saves changes to references in your library as you work. As a result, closing the library does not invoke the familiar "Save changes?" question unless changes to a reference you were working in have not been saved. EndNote will ask if you want to save changes to the open reference, but not changes to the library as a whole.
Closing a library does not quit the EndNote program. If you want to quit from EndNote, select Quit EndNote from the EndNote menu or type ⌘+Q. Quit from the EndNote menu and any open libraries are saved and closed automatically.
